Tournament Rules
- Players are seated four to a table. (Each table actually seats 8 players
and is divided into two "playing tables".) Each table has 3 dice. You
and your partner (partners will be designated at the tournament) keep
score as a team. The team with the highest score at that table wins that
round. Each round will last for 3 minute. The Tournament Timers will
call time.
- Each game consists of 6 rounds of play. In Round 1, players try to roll
ones on the dice; in Round 2, players try to roll twos; in Round 3,
players try to roll threes, and so on, up through sixes.
- When play begins, the player who's birthday is closest to January 1st,
begins rolling for Round 1. That player continues to roll as long as her
roll receives a score (see scoring below). When a player's roll does not
result in a score, the dice are passed to the next player (not her
partner). Play continues around the playing table until time for that
round is called.
- When time is called, each team tallies their total score and determines
whether their team has won or lost that round. Players circle either a W
(Win) or L (Loss) on their score sheets to keep track of wins and
losses. The last person to roll in that round then passes the dice to the
next player to begin the following round.
- At the end of all three games, players indicate the total number of Wins
and Losses in the circles provided at the top of their score sheet.
Individual players should also keep track of the total number of BUNCOS
they roll.
- After six (6) rounds, there will be a 20 minute intermission and players
will switch tables and partners. The losing team will move to the next
highest numbered table (Table 3 Losers move to Table 4; Table 10
Losers move to Table 11, etc.) The winning team stays at the same
table but must switch seats so that they are no longer partners for the
new game.
- SCORING PER TEAM is as follows:
- 21 points for a BUNCO. A BUNCO occurs when a player's roll
results in all 3 dice showing the desired number (e.g., 3 ones in
Round 1; 3 twos in Round 2; 3 threes in Round 3, etc.) The
rolling of a BUNCO should be accompanied by squeals of
excitement. THE LOUDER THE BETTER!!! Prizes for BUNCOS
will be awarded periodically throughout the tournament as
announced by the Tournament Emcee.
- If a player rolls less than 3 of the desired number in a roll, she
receives 1 point for each of the desired number (e.g., she rolls 2
twos in Round 2, she receives 2 points for that roll).
- Players receive 5 points for rolling 3 of any number other than the
desired number for that round (Baby BUNCO).
All prizes (including door prizes, raffle prizes, etc.) will be "presented" at the
end of play.
