Plainfield Bunco Beauties
We are a small group of women from the Plainfield/Joliet Illinois area who enjoy the
"sisterhood" of our Bunco group and wanted to do something to make a difference in the
battle to find a cure for Breast Cancer. Since our initial planning of the 1st Annual
Tournament, two of our "beauties" have been diagnosed with this horrific disease. Our
mission, while always passionate, became very personal. We're thrilled to report that
both Lisa and Ginger are doing well, however, it doesn't make our tenacity any less.
Our first endeavor, The 1st Annual Bunco Beauties for Breast Cancer Bunco
Tournament held in 2006, was a smashing success. We were able to present a check
to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) for over $8,000. We did this with
only 80 participants and the very gracious donations of our various Sponsors. We
extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you who were with us and shared our vision.
The 2nd Annual Bunco Beauties for Breast Cancer Tournament brought so many
return participants from our 2006 event together with several new "sister bunco players".
Our donation of over $14,000 brings our "to-date total" to $22,323 for The Breast
Cancer Research Foundation.
Our "15 Beauties" feel it is a privilege, an honor, and one of the greatest thrills to be able
to present this tournament. We're proud to donate the proceeds to BCRF where at least
85 cents of every dollar raised go to funding research in hopes that this disease is
eradicated in our lifetime.
